New Year’s Resolutions are a wonderful way to set new goals and remind ourselves of our true priorities. Many plan to lose weight or pay down debt, which is always a priority after the holiday spending. And while only 12% of people actually achieve their goals, we all set them and we all expect to fulfill them. Kind of.
Studies have shown that goal setting as well as external accountability help with accomplishing and sticking to your New Year’s Resolutions. So, what does this mean for the parents who want to spend more time with the kids?
- It means that some parents should plan a specific time and day (or numbers of days per week / month) to spend time with the kids and
- other parents should make sure that their friends hold them accountable for the time they spend (or don’t spend) with the kids.
In either case, this is the perfect opportunity for a game of Catchy Bug or Driveway Mini Tennis!
- If you only have 5 minutes before you leave for work, consider taking the little tennis racquets outside and spending time playing tennis in the driveway.
- Or, hopefully you could find 10 minutes during your day to show your kids how to successfully play Catchy Bug.
What if the kids are in school or daycare? Many schools have after school tennis programs which are extremely affordable. Even quite a few preschools and daycare facilities have programs like Ankle Biters Tennis to offer tennis for children.
Maybe 5 minutes of Tennis (at home) a day could keep those ever increasing tennis lesson bills a bit more manageable. And parents don’t have to have any idea how to play tennis! Driveway Mini Tennis? It’s basically Four Square. Catchy Bug? Easy!
